Handpoke tattooing is a slower, more intentional approach to tattooing, and every piece begins before your appointment day.
When booking, you'll be asked to email any reference images, inspiration, placement ideas, or details you'd like me to consider. I use this information to create a custom design tailored specifically to you and your anatomy.
Please note that designs are only created after an appointment has been booked and secured.
On the day of your appointment, we'll review the design together and make any minor adjustments needed to ensure the size, placement, and overall composition feel just right before tattooing begins.
Once the design is approved, your skin will be cleansed and prepared for tattooing. Unlike machine tattooing, handpoke tattoos are created one dot at a time using a single-use sterile needle and professional tattoo pigments.
Many clients describe the sensation as gentler and more meditative than machine tattooing. The process is quieter, slower, and allows for a more intentional experience.
Handpoke tattooing is my preferred method because it invites me to be fully present with every mark I make. There is something deeply special about building a tattoo point by point, allowing the design to emerge through patience and care. It feels less like production and more like craftsmanship.
While the experience may feel softer, it is important to understand that a handpoke tattoo is still a permanent tattoo. The pigment is implanted into the skin just as it is with machine tattooing, creating a lasting result.
Every tattoo heals differently depending on placement, lifestyle, and individual skin characteristics. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided at your appointment to support the best possible healed result.

My handpoke tattoo work focuses on ornamental tattooing and body adornment inspired by natural forms, symbolism, and flow. If you're unsure whether your idea is a good fit for my style, you're welcome to reach out before booking.
When booking, you'll be asked to email any reference images, placement ideas, or inspiration you'd like me to consider. Reference photos are incredibly helpful for understanding the aesthetic, feeling, and elements you're drawn to.
While I welcome inspiration from other artists, I do not copy or recreate another artist's work. Instead, I use the references you provide to create a custom design in my own artistic style that is unique to you.
Please note that all designs are created after an appointment has been booked and secured. I do not create custom designs prior to booking.
Handpoke tattooing is a permanent form of tattooing created entirely by hand, one mark at a time. While the process is often slower and quieter than machine tattooing, the healed result is just as permanent.

Your tattoo is an open wound and should be treated with care throughout the healing process.
Immediately following your appointment, the area may appear darker, more vibrant, or slightly raised. Mild redness, tenderness, swelling, and flaking are all normal parts of healing.
For the first 2 weeks:
• Keep the tattoo clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily.
• Wash gently with mild, fragrance-free soap and water.
• Apply a thin layer of the recommended aftercare product as needed.
• Avoid picking, scratching, or peeling any flakes or scabs.
• Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas, and soaking the tattoo.
• Avoid excessive sweating and high-friction activities when possible.
• Avoid direct sun exposure. As your tattoo heals, it may appear dull, flaky, cloudy, or uneven in certain areas. This is completely normal and part of the healing process.
Once healed, protecting your tattoo with sunscreen can help preserve its appearance over time.
Every person's skin heals differently, and final healed results may vary depending on placement, lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.
If you have any concerns during the healing process, please don't hesitate to reach out at Clara@claritycosmetictattoo.com.

All handpoke tattoos include one complimentary touch-up within 6 months of the original appointment.
Touch-ups are intended to address areas where pigment may have healed lighter than expected and help ensure the best possible healed result.
Touch-up appointments must be scheduled after the tattoo has fully healed and within 6 months of the original tattoo date. Any touch-ups requested after 6 months will be treated as a new appointment and priced accordingly.
Please note that all tattoos heal differently depending on skin type, placement, lifestyle, and aftercare.
